i have light brunette hair thats about 1-2 inches below my shoulders. (not very long for my opinion). i have many layers in my hair and cute bangs (that i love) but my problem is. my hair is extremely fried from straightening it and coloring it.(those of which i've stopped doing because i dont want it to get worse) while i feel like my hair isnt growing anymore. i really wish i had my long hair back. and i was wondering if anybody knows a way i could get my long healthy hair back to normal.?

Believe it or not, nothing can make it grow faster you can check with other hair professionals and they should be honest and tell you that as well. In the future for coloring go to a hair professional. Use Hair Repairs from the Beauty Supply store or go to a local salon to help your hair look healthy.

dont use any products, just clean and use a conditioner if you want, but trim it every 6 weeks to get the ends good, and it will come back, but it is important to trim the ends.

There are no products that will make your hair grow faster. Hair grows 1/2 an inch a month. A healthy diet rich in B vitamins, omega fatty acids and protien can help for healthier hair. Also use contioner for damaged hair. like tresseme and pantene are good. garnier frutis works good to if its damaged by a straightener.

well what you could do is stop using all tose product and wash your hair with a goood shampoo u miight rty using Clairol vitapoint, this is a creme hairdress and conditioner and u can buy it at sally, just follow the direction on the label, and trim your hai every 3 to 6 week or once a month. just do this and use the product i said and your hair will probably get heathy, good luck

Use a super absorbent hair towel (ex. Aquis or The Body Shop) to minimize time needed to air dry or blow dry.

Use a deep conditioner as needed. Joico K-Pak conditioner is excellent. You can use it every day or as a hair mask. Joico also makes K-Pak shampoo which is good for dry hair.

Use a wide toothed comb after shampooing to remove tangles and start from the bottom working your way up gently. Dry hair can be brittle so treat it gently and do not brush it while it is wet.

Avoid styling products with a high alcohol content (ex. hair spray) and use a heat protection product before blow drying or styling.

Kiehl's Silk Groom or jojoba oil are good. They can add a little texture while conditioning your hair.

Go to the closest Sally Beauty Supply and buy yourself some "Hask Placenta" in any form. I myself prefer the liquid is the spray bottle. You can spray in on your hair after you wash it. Buy a bottle of "Ion Anit-Frizz Straightening Shampoo and Conditioner. Continue using you flatiron, use it with a heat protect spray. "Beyond The Zone" carries a very good spray. In the mean time, buy yourself some extentions to wear. Buy the kind you can glue in. Doing that will result in covering up your damaged hair on the days you are not repairing it, give you the long hair you want, and look fabulas in the process.

When you go to the salon tell them to cut the dead ends. When you cut the dead ends you hair can grow. Don't like never go to the salon, go like every 3-4 weeks.

you want to use products that are as natural as possible. For example you would not want to use something that is going to weigh down your hair with waxy buildup or something like that. You want real moisture and nutrition for your hair.

I have long hair, very long, and I did have it short at one time. I used and still do, suave products for my hair. I especially like their conditioner because it is only natural ingredients and very light - it doesnt feel oily after use.

Also, don't tie your hair up tightly to much it can actually discourage healthy hair. Its ok to put it up as long as it is loose.

Get it trimmed and then recondition it. Let it grow out. I had to do that myself. It may not be the best look, but really give it 6 months and you will love it. Recondition it about once a week.

When I was getting all kinds of perms %26amp; coloring done to my hair...... it became VERY VERY BRITTLE.

First of all, you HAVE to stop coloring or straigtening it!!! Absolutely NO CHEMICALS!!

Then, buy a HAIR %26amp; SCALP treatment to use as needed.

After that, use a very good conditioning shampoo %26amp; conditioner.

It will take awhile, but you WILL get your long hair back!!

Sometimes people that straighten their hair have really bad split ends, and by really bad i mean long. So your hair won't grow [at least not that fast]. If i had long split ends i would take 3 inches off. I know that sounds like a lot [i love long hair too] but if you want to make it long and healthy again, that's what i would do.

Get a wet-dry straightener. When your hair is wet it straitens it with out freeing it. Conditioner conditioner conditioner....Herbal Essences is good for hair damage. Cut the ends.....When the ends aren't fresh they wont grow.....I went through the same problem

ok well i dont think there is any way to make it grow faster, but to make it more healthy, i highly recommend salon shampoos and conditioners, yes it is way more expensive, but honestly, it is sooo much better for your hair.

while your hair is still wet apply and anti frizz and curling cream... apply from back to front... don't start at the top and go back.

then take small sections of your hair and twist them around your finger to make ringlets... this emphasizes and smooth shiny curl... then blow dry with a diffuser (the big cone shaped one that goes on the end of your dryer) by setting the hair in the diffuser and just hold the dryer in the same place with the dryer on a medium to low setting... it's the hard hot air blowing it all around without a diffuser that dries it out and makes it frizz... gently twist all your hair and diffuse one section at a time... if you want to shape it a little more use a curling iron... you might have to play with it a bit to really get the technique down.

I need my hair cut.. it's getting way too long! I have some cute ideas that I want.. but I'm very unsure about my hair stylist.. so then I end up not getting my hair cut.. are there some ways I can best achieve the haircut that I want?? Without being scared to go??

look in magazines and stuff and don't be embarassed to show the stylist a picture of what u want! It ensures no miscommunications, or at least it should Good luck and be string! And always remember, if it doens't come out exactly perfect, than the diff between a good haircut and a bad haircut is 3 weeks- by then it'll have settled in on you, so go for it! do something different!

Do some research. If you're not sure about how you will look, I suggest buying on of those computer programs that lets you take a picture of yourself and then load it onto your computer and try different looks. It's really cool.

if you don't trust your stylist you really need to switch stylists. ask around amongst friends to see where they go and ask about their stylists. my stylist quit doing hair almost two years ago and i still haven't found a stylist. i feel your pain on being afraid to go!! go consult with a new stylist before committing to the sylist. a lot of stylists keep a portfolio with pictures of their work.

My out look on hair styles is that it is the one thing about your body you can easily change. If you don't like the color... change it... If you don't like what it was changed to then color over it... If you don't like the style... get it cut.... If you don't like it then... you can either cut more off of it, try a cute retro hairstyle.... or get extensions. My thing is it will always grow back .... so have fun with it! Don't be scared to change your hair... besides a new hairstyle may even add some fun and spice to life.

Good Luck - you can always try styles for cheaper at a hair acadamy. I would make sure that it is a trusted one though. Something like Gene Juarez... I pretty sure they have some sort of guarentee that if you don't like it they'll fix it for you until you do. Plus you know that there is someone certified to help them rather than some stranger in some little beauty shop doing a hack job on your hair.

Look around you! When you see someone with a haircut similar to the one you want and it looks really good, ask where they got it done and who did it! Then go make an appointment with that person. Or ask several people and if you find a pattern (which if you live in a somewhat medium-small town you might) go to that person. You can't tell how someone cuts hair unless you see someone who actually got their hair cut there. And if you are ever at a salon and you feel unsire of the person just leave. It isn't worth getting a horible haircut! Oh and when you go try to bring several pictures so you can point out what you like and dont like for each one. That gives the stylist a better idea of what to do. And once you find a good stylist remember his/her name and return to them.

OYE... I know!!! I was considering cutting my hair for 16 yrs... never had the guts to do it. One day I woke up feeling kinda gutsy, like I had attitude and decided to go in RIGHT AWAY and have them cut my hair. I did and it turned out great.... My point is.... Its just hair. Following others is a great way to turn out exactly the way others plan for you to turn out in life. I know the question of wether or not you are going to the dance may not seem like a big deal right now but at your age, you need to start off on the right foot and begin to make your own decisions. I have the same costume and I'm using hot rollers on the bottom portion of my hair to make it cute and curly. Because the hair is so full of volume at the ends it helps keep the hat up which was falling over my eyes. I also stuffed some tissue paper in the top of the hat to help it fit.

well. i have thick hair too. it used to be long :D. haha. so yeah. what i did was i took a shower before i went to sleep at night. then i put it into a VERYY sloppy ponytail. then i took my gel and ran it through my pony tail and i then put my pony tail into a majorly sloppy bun. then when i woke up the next morning i sprayed and gelled the heck out it. it worked for me :D. if that doesnt work try the really small hair curlers that you put in when your hair is wet. i never had the patience to do that to my entire head of hair.

after u come out of the shower, and your hair is damp, put mousse all over your hair and scrunch -then place it in a high bun - let it out after a few hours.

better if you keep it over night- wake up in the morning with soft beautiful waves and spirals.

The short one is really cute. Just add some pazzaz to it and everyone is gonna be jelouse of yur hair. I mean i know the long was cute and very pretty but change is good. The fashion currently is short hair likr Rihannah and other singers. Don't worry hun. Try adding edgy looks by products that give it some bounce and just som spikes at the bottom. Add a nice pink/black headband!!

Long Hair is definitely your thing. It really accent your best feature which is totally your amazing eyes. They look great against your creamy skin and the longer hair makes that more visible. The short hair is cute in a emo way but I just think the longer hair is just more flattering for your head shape. Either way you decide to go I know you will look awesome.

Five inches past the shoulders isn't "really" long by some tallies. It's probably w-a-y short of your *natural* limit, where new growth gradually replaces shed hair.

Good luck on finding a hair cut that looks good both right off and a month later, otherwise, imagine the support for cancer research or for wigs for kids on chemo temporarily if the fees otherwise spent regularly on trims and/or cuts was donated instead.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you are actually lucky to have curly hair. I think curly hair is really cute pulled up with a few strands hanging down. If it's straight hair you are after there are several things you can do. You can have it chemically straightened, If your hair is extremely curly this will only relax the curl but make it alot easier to work with. If it's just wavy or slightly curly it will wotk better. I have wavy hair and I love it. I can scrunch it when I want it to be curly, or straighten it with a flat iron when I want a straighter look. My best friend has really long hair and it is really curly, like ringlets. She has tried several flat irons, and the sedu flat iron is the only one that works for her hair.

It's not really a secret: She has professionals curling her hair. It's quite difficult for an average person to do it for herself. However, a curling iron or curlers should do the trick. Her curls are generally very shaped and almost closer to big waves than curls, so scrunching your hair will not give you the same look. For a big event, your hairstylist can curl your hair for you -- take a photo of Miley to show exactly what you want. But just in general, a curling iron and hot curlers should work just fine. And don't forget hairspray, otherwise, the curls won't stay defined. Just so you know: It can take awhile, and it curls don't come easily to all hair types. But good luck!! =]

I'm always a fan of the pompadour... it's a low maintenence hairstyle that with the right amount of discreetly, smartly placed bobby pins can last through a hurricane. To achieve the hairstyle you take a small section of your hair on the top of you head and pull it back. Twist the ends a little bit (to prevent your part from coming out) and push it forward until you have the desired "pouf" to your hair. Secure with bobby pins. I'm perfectly okay with the scene people, but I just don't like how they make it extreme like you showed in the first picture. It looks like 80's singers coming back in style and it's completely retarded. It's a shame, I mean I know people are allowed to chose their own personal style and I'm all for creativity but that's a bit overboard. So many of those girls could be soo pretty but they have to ruin their hair by styling it like that. But hey, I guess for some people that's "hot."

That's the onnly scene hairstyle I like to o(the second picture.) There are some scene people that make their hair cute without going overboard. Basically, that girl just sprayed her hair up on the top to poof it a little bit. The choppiness is terrible though in that other one!!!

It's been in style since mid-2007 I believe. I started really seeing it around September-Novemeber and it just started growing from there really. I mean, like at the end of 2006 or the beginning of 2007 it was weird to see someone with that cut, but now it's totally natural! I can't believe how far it's gotten!

It will be "in" as long as people have a passion for that hair style. Who knows? It might be in style for two more years, it might be in style for 60 more years! No one can predict the future, all we know is the present and the past.

I think these styles are classic rocker chick but are not too up to date with the current trends. Take a look at Katie Holmes new short bob or Victoria Beckhams. Cuz you say she still has her baby hair, I assume you've never had it cut... Get it trimmed and then it will grow thicker and longer and quicker. It worked with my niece!

I can definitely relate, I have curly hair also and I used to hate it long because I always used the same hair style, I would use gel or moose and scrunch it while it was wet, then take your hair towel and scrunch it some more( upside down by the way, it helps add volume) then flip it upside right and spray with hair spray or lightly spritz and scrunch some more with your towel or your hands, the towel just soaks up the access water, you can also blow dry it. I blow dry mine upside down first to get the underneath dry first then flip it up and blow dry the rest and style to the side or how ever you want, and spray when finished, REMEMBER: SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH !!! you can never scrunch enough. You want to bring out every curl. Work at it, and don't expect it to look perfect the first time or even every time. Our curls have a mind of their own. lol good luck. you can email me if you have any other questions, But whatever you do DO NOT CUT IT SHORT! that was a big mistake on my part and I really regret it. But its growing back fast and my curls are coming back in beautiful but its more work now than before. Be patient.

I know exactly what you mean! I have curly hair too - very thick and frizzy! I straighten it a lot, but when I leave it curly I use Frizz Ease Curl Ahead shampoo and conditioner.

Then I use these:

-Frizz Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum (put on soaking wet hair)

-Aussie Dual Personality leave-in conditioner and anti-frizz (in a little purple pump bottle

-Frizz Ease Dream Curls Spray

-Frizz Ease Secret Weapon creme

You can tell I like Frizz Ease a lot, lol. I would be dead without it!

Some tips:

Only use a comb (wide tooth) on your wet hair - a regular brush causes too much breakage and messes up your hair when you wear it curly.

If you want, you can scrunch your hair with some gel (Tresseme works well) when it's wet (after using the Frizz Ease serum).

Also, when you do straighten it, be sure to use a protective gel or spray. If your hair is too damaged it looks bad when it's curly!

i have medium hair and it has a bunch of layers and i like to flip it out, straighten it [looks alittle scene wen straightend lol] and curl it and it always looks really good! So i suggest layers.

but ifyou just want hairstyles...

1. Pony tail but have the ponytail curled or waved to "jazz" it up alittle bit :)

You can buy a weave. Or to straighten buy a straightener or use a round brush and wet your hair. When your hair is wet, drag the round brush from the roots of your hair down to the bottom. While doing this, dry your hair with a hair dryer.

its kinda hard... maybe you could show us a pic? but u might not want to. ok well i suggest that u get a really good straightener and then u get a cool brush and blowdryer that all work together to straighten your hair. then foir styling it you should do something kinda shorter so that it will be easier to dry and faster. i think you should layer it and get it a little bit below your shoulders and you should get side bangs. i got them and everyone compliments me. when u get tired of them they grow so fast or i could put them in a headband or clip them back. have fun!

If you have very healthy hair dont start gettin weaves and flat ironin your hair it will get real damage...the most use sunsilk for straight hair...the bottle is purple and it comes with shampoo conditioner and an after creme to apply during the day..it leaves your hair smooth...So aply it all over your hair and blowdry it and brush as you blow dry
