I have the same costume and I'm using hot rollers on the bottom portion of my hair to make it cute and curly. Because the hair is so full of volume at the ends it helps keep the hat up which was falling over my eyes. I also stuffed some tissue paper in the top of the hat to help it fit.

Take your hair and use a reeeaaaallly stiff fixative for hair and create the ears with your hair..u can make one kinda bendy and the other straight out
